Beyond Books:Building Future With Pehchaan The Street School

Today I have a story to share,
While walking through the streets, I noticed a little boy sitting on the pavement, diligently scribbling in his notebook. Curious, I sat beside him and asked what he was doing. With a bright smile, he replied,
“Are Didi, aaj Bhaiya ne homework diya hai.”
When asked where he goes to study He told me about - Pehchaan The Street School, a non-profit organization that has been tirelessly working over the past decade and providing free education to underprivileged children.
This organization stands as a beacon of hope and transformation. They go beyond books and focus on holistic development and empowering children for the future.
They are volunteer driven - with more than 500 active volunteers working on the ground and a large team working online towards creating an inclusive space where children from diverse backgrounds are allowed to learn, regardless of their circumstances and overcome poverty, aiming for a brighter future as they are the future policymakers/changemakers of the world. They offer vocational training in areas such as computer and IT skills, personality development, aiming for the overall development of children.

A sweet celebration made even sweeter-
Ity’s Artisanal Bakery sent beautifully crafted cakes which resulted in bringing smiles to hundreds of little bundles of joy on the occasion of the completion of the incredible ten years of Pehchaan The Street School
Not all heroes wear capes, some carry keys-
Ampkrafts sent home-shaped keychains for our volunteers, this is like a little token that reminds us that every effort, every smile, and every moment created something that feels like home.

When Kindness comes in Tote Bag- Sunshine Club sent lovely tote bags for our incredible volunteers, each crafted with a little message of hope, a lot of love and the reminder that good things are truly on their way.

Challenges
Despite being a well-organised organisation Pehchaan The Street School faces real challenges like-
Lack of Funding- This is the most important need for an NGO to work successfully.
Lack Of Resources- Due to lack of funding NGOs are unable to fulfill many requirements many times.
Need for more volunteers- Pehchaan The Street School is a volunteer-driven organisation and dedicated volunteers are one of the major needs.
Inadequate infrastructure - It affects the delivery of education and limits access for children.
Ways You Can Support Pehchaan The Street School
• Volunteer -on the ground or online and contribute your time as per your availability.
• Internship -on the ground or online, one can choose from multiple positions as per interest. All
interns get a certificate after completion of the internship.
•Member-Membership is for everyone who can't commit time or can't work either online or
offline. One can also donate a certain amount and become a member of the trust.
Once in life, we all should be a part of such a great cause.
