Skill Development

Skill Development is as essential as education. It enables an individual to manage everyday challenges and enhance their quality of life, affecting children's personality and social development positively. Engaging children in activities like drawing, painting, sports, and music and developing skills like critical thinking and effective communication followed by academic education result in the holistic development of children and prepare them to meet the workforce demands of the modern world and develop discipline and focus.

Skill development acts as a bridge for children lacking access to traditional education, making them employable and empowering them to break free from the continuous cycle of poverty, which passes from generation to generation. It contributes to building a more equitable and acceptable society.

Pehchaan The Street School

For over 9 years now, Pehchaan The Street School, an NGO established in 2015 with ten centres that provide free and high-quality education to underprivileged children, has relied on crowdfunding and is maintained and run by volunteers, many of whom are college and school students and share a common goal. With over 1600+ students, more than 500 active volunteers working on the ground and a large team working online towards creating an inclusive space where children from diverse backgrounds are allowed to learn, regardless of their circumstances and overcome poverty, aiming for a brighter future as they are the future policymakers/changemakers of the world.

They will organise activities like storytelling and drawing workshop which focuses on teaching the significance of Holi. One can also contribute to this initiative by donating a School Chale Kit. Each kit includes essential stationery, notebooks, and supplies to help them continue their learning journey and costs ₹300.

•Moreover, they also offer community engagement through which children get exposure to new scenarios, new people, and new stories, and learn about lifestyles and perspectives.

This organization recognises the crucial role of life skills and opted for a curriculum that essentially goes beyond traditional academics to provide a holistic development approach and develop skills to generate employment in future and achieve independence.
